Parent Trainings
Parent Training: A Vital Part of ABA Therapy at Inclusion ABA
Parents are crucial partners in their child's ABA therapy journey. That's why parent training is a required component of our program. Many insurance companies require an 85% attendance rate or better for parent training sessions to continue covering ABA services. We are dedicated to empowering parents with the knowledge and skills they need to support their child's progress at home and in the community.
Why is Parent Training So Important?
ABA therapy isn't just about what happens during therapy sessions. To achieve lasting progress, the principles and techniques of ABA need to be incorporated into your child's everyday life. Parent training equips you to do just that. Here's how:
-
Generalization of Skills: Children with autism often struggle to apply skills learned in one setting (like the therapy clinic) to other environments (like home or school). Parent training helps you create consistency and reinforce those skills across different contexts, leading to better generalization.
-
Consistency and Continuity: By learning ABA techniques, you can provide consistent support and guidance that aligns with your child's therapy goals. This consistency strengthens learning and reduces confusion for your child.
-
Enhanced Communication: Parent training improves communication between you, your child, and the therapy team. You'll gain a deeper understanding of your child's needs and how to best support them.
-
Increased Confidence: As you learn and apply ABA strategies, you'll gain confidence in your ability to help your child. This confidence can have a positive impact on your child's development and your family's well-being.
-
Stronger Family Bonds: Working together as a family to support your child's growth can strengthen family bonds and create a more positive and supportive home environment.
